Please keep in mind that this points system has been devised to ensure that even if there is a material imbalance in the strength of the competing sides, there remains a meaningful number of points for either team to compete for in each match.

- MPW.1 - Points shall be awarded based on the overall result of the match as follows:
|
- MPW.2 - In the event of a team not participating in a fixture when scheduled and all other conditions enable the match to be played, then that team will concede the match and any points on offer, or the right to progress in the knock-out stages, to their opponent. Where this occurs in any group stage match then the culpable team will also incur a 1 point deduction to their group stage points as well as a 1.00 reduction in their net run rate for that group stage.
In the interests of 'Getting The Game On', the non-cancelling side MAY offer to play the match on alternate date instead, but they are not compelled to and are at liberty to accept the points awarded for a cancellation.
If, however, the non-cancelling team DOES offer the opportunity to play on the reserve date and that second date is curtailed by weather then the points will be awarded on the basis of the initial cancellation. |
- MPW.3 - Bonus points shall be awarded to the LOSING team on the following basis:
Batting second (regardless of length of match)
Bowling second (regardless of length of match)
Bonus points will be automatically calculated by PlayCricket but teams should check to ensure that this is the case and notify the Competition Manager ASAP if any errors are noticed.

- MPW.4 - In the event of poor weather reducing play to an extent where both sides are unable to bowl at least 6 completed overs then points shall be awarded as stated in MPW.1.
- MPW.5 - In the event of poor weather reducing play but NOT enough to prevent both sides bowling 6 complete overs, the result of the match shall be calculated via the Duckworth/Lewis method using one of the following apps:
PLAY-CRICKET SCORER
TARAMS D/L CALCULATOR
Teams are responsible for ensuring that they have at least one member of their team who has access to one of the above apps and is familiar with how to utilise it so as not to cause unnecessary delay to the match. Both apps contain links to instructions
- MPW.5a - For the purposes of managing evening matches where a delay occurs in the first innings of a match (and the light is fair) it should be assumed that a full innings takes 60 minutes to complete, and a full match takes 130 minutes, when calculating how many more overs of the match can be completed.
- MPW.5b - For daytime matches where end time is not a pressing factor then rather than invoking MPW.5 teams may elect to wait as long as mutually agreeable to fit in as many overs as possible,
- MPW.5c - Bonus points shall be awarded as per MPW.3 regardless of a match being resolved by DL method.
